Galatasaray coach Fatih Terim has blasted the performance of umpire Svein Oddvar Moen during his side's 3-0 quarterfinal defeat against Real Madrid on Wednesday, saying the Norwegian official was frightened of los Blancos. Madrid emerged triumphant after targets from Cristiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema and Gonzalo Higuain, but the Gala chef thought his side must have been given two penalties, firstly when Sami Khedira appeared to handle the ball before the interval, and proper Burak Yilmaz was fouled in the next half. And he questioned the referee's expertise, telling reporters after the match: "The umpire was frightened of Real Madrid's title. He is not really a referee because of this stage. "If you can not view a fee for handball, then he should not be here. Everybody else says fee, but the umpire - nothing is said by him. True Madrid will be the favorites with this match. It didn't happen for all of us. Exactly what do we do? "Did he defeat us? No. His whistle was blown by him at some very interesting areas of the game. I have maybe not seen the penalty shouts, but everybody else says it had been a penalty. Referees were not needed by "real Madrid, but when they do not see what's there, you don't get anywhere. He also gave lots of wrong choices. Nevertheless, referees arenat the main topic of the conversation." Inspite of the three-goal debt, Terim refused to rule his side out from the tie, but he accepted it would be a hard task. "The goals we could have won in the very first half could have changed everything. We shall work hard in the next game, but Madrid are better-placed to get through." aI don't like discussing referees," he added. "I never speak about them. But, the umpire was awful."
