With WrestleMania 29 now completely on the back burner and Extreme Rules suddenly barely over a month away, the WWE storylines are quickly becoming more compelling by the day.
Just last night on WWE Raw, we saw a title change hands, the development of some intriguing new feuds and some unexpected occurrences that opened up more questions than they answered.
As such, SmackDown from Knoxville, Tenn. on Friday promises to be a must-watch event, and if you can't wait to see what happens, we've got the results from Tuesday's taping of the show.
Despite his efforts as a heel, Fandango continues to gain popularity with the crowd. That theme song is just too darn catchy.
After receiving yet another pop from the crowd during his entrance, the up-and-comer knocked off poor Santino Marella in fairly quick fashion to start the show.
U.S. Champion Kofi Kingston—which still feels slightly odd to type considering the icy-cold streak he was on for the first four months of this year—was able to roll up Barrett to finish off a decent match.
While it's nice to see Kingston continue to rack up wins, it's clear that Barrett's Intercontinental win directly following WrestleMania didn't mean much, as he continues to move in the opposite direction.
After that match, Henry was being interviewed backstage, only for Sheamus to attack him. The two would later meet in the show's main event.
This was a terrific back-and-forth match with offense from both sides and plenty of near falls throughout. In the end, Del Rio, who had his leg heavily bandaged, broke out of the Patriot Lock via the ropes and followed with a pin shortly after.
Both Ricardo Rodriguez and Zeb Colter were involved in the match, and it wouldn't be surprising if the managers played a major role in the three-way battle with Dolph Ziggler at Extreme Rules.
The trio mocked John Cena and talked about how Ryback now knows how justice feels. Then they moved on to The Undertaker, saying that he was scared of them.
While this looks promising for a dream matchup at Extreme Rules, there are rumors that 'Taker won't be joining Team Hell No against The Shield at the PPV. Instead, this is likely a setup for the upcoming UK tour.
With the way things are going, we appear headed towards Henry vs. Sheamus and Show vs. Orton matches at Extreme Rules.
