NBA Trade Rumors: Latest Pre-Draft Chatter from Around the League

With 26 teams now eliminated from title contention, much focus has shifted to the NBA offseason and what those teams plan to do prior to the draft on June 27.

For those teams that fell short of the ultimate prize, this is a time of reevaluation, planning and forward thinking. This is a time to make some decisions.

Some of those decisions will involve coaching changes and roster moves, but every organization in the league must be prepared to improve through the draft. With a premium placed on lottery selections—and finding the right players outside the top 14 picks—general managers are scrambling to craft a plan for acquiring the players they want.

But some of those general managers are looking at poor draft position. For those teams, this is a time to consider making some decisive moves to put their team in the best position to make a splash in the draft.

Let's take a look at some rumors from around the league and identify a few squads looking to potentially move up or down the draft board to acquire the players they want in the 2013 NBA draft.

The 2013 campaign was a disappointing season for the Portland Trail Blazers, but they have a solid foundation on which to build for the future. With Rookie of the Year Damian Lillard and leading scorer LaMarcus Aldridge in place for next season, general manager Neil Olshey should be focused on finding another talented scorer to lead his team through the playoff barrier in the Western Conference.

According to Chris Haynes of CSNNW.com, Olshey may have a target in mind. Sources indicate the Trail Blazers "really like" Indiana swingman Victor Oladipo and may try to move up in the draft to acquire him.

The draft lottery on May 21 will give a clearer indication, but Portland is currently slotted for the No. 10 pick in the draft—a position in which it will likely have to trade up to obtain the athletic perimeter scorer. Should the Trail Blazers not crack the top five when the ping pong balls are drawn, Olshey may have to get creative to trade up.

This year's draft isn't being lauded for its elite talent, though, and with the recent success of non-lottery picks like Kenneth Faried and Chandler Parsons, there may be a bevy of teams hoping to add extra picks by moving back in the first round—like the Charlotte Bobcats.

According to Rick Bonnell of the Charlotte Observer, the Bobcats may be interested in moving out of the top five—a rare occurrence in a draft that typically focuses on top-tier talent:

Here's what I noticed: The Charlotte Bobcats, a team assured of drafting no lower than fifth in the first round and having no second-round pick, seem oddly curious about players projected to be drafted in the middle of the first round.

So I asked several writers covering teams with similarly high picks if they thought their general managers were receptive to trading down. "Absolutely," I kept hearing.

Every general manager will be doing his due diligence prior to the draft, and the talk of trading down may simply be a smokescreen to keep other teams on their toes, but there could be some validity to the rumors if the Bobcats have their heart set on a player who isn't a projected top-five talent.

As is the case with Portland, what Charlotte ultimately decides to do will hinge on how the draft lottery plays out, but it's hard to imagine a top-five team willingly trading back in the first round, even in a weak draft class. The Bobcats can't afford to get too creative and miss out on a proven talent and future building block.

It's hard to put a positive spin on the Los Angeles Lakers' season. Despite adding superstar talent this offseason, the Lakers floundered much of the year and met their fate at the hands of the San Antonio Spurs in the first round of the playoffs, as Kobe Bryant watched on with a season-ending injury.

There's no timetable for Bryant's return and general manager Mitch Kupchak will have his hands full with trying to retain Howard. What that means, however, is Pau Gasol may be the odd man out in Los Angeles.

According to Sam Amico of Fox Sports, the Lakers may be willing to trade the forward in exchange for youth and better draft positioning, potentially in the lottery, as he also noted on Twitter:

The unrest involving Gasol in Los Angeles has been palpable, and it shouldn't be a surprise that the team could look to move him this offseason. With Bryant's 2013 future in question and the prospect of potentially losing Howard to free agency, Kupchak has to be willing to reshape his roster and get younger through the draft.

Today In Overreactions: Throwing Your False Teeth At The Manager Because Your Team Lost Again

When your team loses, it sucks. When your team is on a five game losing streak, it really sucks. Tiger woods Responds To Sergio Garcia ‘Fried Chicken’ Opinion: Words Were ‘Hurtful’.

If the Tiger Woods vs. Sergio Garcia feud is indeed over, it ended the manner in which that many feuds undertake: passive-aggressive sniping turns into more heated words, and next one party clearly covers the line and says or does something significantly inappropriate, causing both walls to retreat. If you've lots of people in a serious partnership, you know exactly the reason.

Happens on the the game as well. The Woods-Garcia spat, chronicled at this point, came to a exactly Tuesday when Garcia made an ill-advised mention of fried chicken while having a debate about a pretend dinner using Tiger. Since Fuzzy Zoeller plumbed all those racist depths previously, within 1997, no one was a student in the mood for the application again.

On Tuesday with the European Tour Awards Food in London, Garcia had been asked about his feud by using Woods, and if he would ever invite him to help you dinner. Garcia:

Woods responded today via Twitter, saying that Garcia's policy was "wrong" and "hurtful" and that it may be time to "move with. "

"I want to apologize to help you Tiger and anybody we could have offended, " Garcia said. "I feel sick about it. I'm truly, truly remorseful. And I hope we can kind of settle items down and hopefully advance. "

"It wasn't meant this way, " Garcia said. "I is caught off guard. What have also been a funny question, and I tried to give a funny answer. It became available totally wrong. I want to verify everybody knows I'm rather, very sorry. I can't apologize enough times.

"As soon as i left the dinner, I started acquiring a sick feeling in your body. I didn't really sleep at all. I felt like my heart would come out of this body. I've had this sick feeling for hours on end. Difficult to hit an effort all day. "

Garcia said he reached out so that you can Woods' agent, Mark Steinberg, who missed the letter but acknowledged receiving this. "I would love to communicate with him [Woods] asap and make sure everything is OK, " Garcia said.

We could say that will Sergio Garcia is out of Spain, and athletes from that country have a poor track record concerning making racist comments and additionally gestures. But we won't go there at this time.

UFX on FX 8: Three Things to Watch for on the Belfort vs. Rockhold Fight Card

There was a time, and this wasn't all that long ago, when Ronaldo "Jacare" Souza was the newly-minted terror of the world's middleweight division.

I remember watching Souza dismantle Robbie Lawler back in 2011 and thinking to myself, "OK, this guy is pretty scary and I'd like to see him fight Anderson Silva."

That was still a pipe dream back then, of course. Zuffa wouldn't purchase Strikeforce until three months after Souza submitted Lawler for his fourth win in a row; the possibility of Souza actually facing Silva and other top UFC middleweights wouldn't become a reality until a little more than two years later.

On Saturday night, Souza finally enters the same division as Silva, and I can't help but think that his best opportunity to earn some kind of favored scorecard likely vanished out the window back when he lost his Strikeforce middleweight title to Luke Rockhold.

That fight was the one after Lawler, and it derailed years of hype behind Jacare; instead of making his UFC debut as a top title contender, Jacare is debuting against Chris Camozzi. Rockhold, meanwhile, is in the main event against one of the UFC's bigger names with a title shot likely on the line.

Souza has to feel like he could've easily been in Rockhold's shoes, like Rockhold's spoils should have been his. And Souza can still work his way back to the top, but that journey simply must start on Saturday night. He can't falter, or he'll be left behind.

1st-Quarter Grades for the Cleveland Indians

The Indians—on paper at least—look like they are a middle-of-the-pack team when it comes to their defense. There is some truth to that, but if you take your eyes off the stats and watch a game, you will see a much more versatile group of guys than in years past.

Nick Swisher has been a vacuum at first base. Not only is he scooping everything thrown at him, but he is also sucking up everything hit his way as well. Mark Reynolds has also been getting time at first base, and we have even seen him do splits to get the out.

However, if you do want to look at stats, you will find the Indians right in the middle when it comes to errors and fielding percentage.

The Indians rank eighth in the AL in errors, but that number might be skewed a bit. The main contributor to the Tribe's number of errors was Lonnie Chisenhall, who was demoted to Triple-A this week.

Also, just one of the team's 22 errors was charged to the outfielders during the first quarter of the season. Even though it is a lot easier to make an error while playing the infield, steps must be taken to ensure they are minimized (read: Chisenhall demotion). A more careful infield as the Indians move toward the All-Star break should have them moving up the list in no time.

After fan gets 2 HR balls, D-backs beat Yanks 6-2

NEW YORK (AP) — Cody Ross hit a go-ahead single in the 12th inning, Eric Chavez followed with a three-run double against his former team and the Arizona Diamondbacks beat the New York Yankees 6-2 Thursday night after one fan came up with two home run balls, including Francesco Cervelli's tying drive in the ninth.

The Yankees failed to complete a three-game sweep after learning captain Derek Jeter again fractured his left ankle and will be sidelined until after the All-Star break.

On a strange night that included a pair of catcher's interference calls against Cervelli, Robinson Cano started New York's comeback from a 2-0 deficit with a sixth-inning homer off Patrick Corbin.

New York loaded the bases with one out in the eighth against David Hernandez, and Cano was hit by a 1-2 pitch above his left ankle as he tried to check his swing. He headed to first thinking the score had been tied, but umpires ruled he went around too far and called him out.

Hernandez struck out Kevin Youkilis to escape the jam, but Cervelli homered off J.J. Putz with one out in the ninth, a drive into the first row behind the left-field scoreboard. The ball was caught by 35-year-old Zack Hample, author of the book "How to Snag Major League Baseballs."

Wearing a Diamondbacks cap, he had picked up Didi Gregorius' first big league home run after the drive — on the first pitch the rookie saw with the Diamondbacks — landed in the third row of the right-field seats in the third inning.

"For those who are 'calling shenanigans,' my seat is in LF tonight, but I just so happened to be in RF for Gregorius's first at-bat," tweeted Hample, who caught Barry Bonds' 724th career homer in 2006.

David Phelps (0-1) escaped two-on, none-out trouble in the 11th, but Gerardo Parra doubled leading off the 12th and advanced to third when Martin Prado flied out to Brett Gardner, who made a sliding catch on the center-field warning track.

Paul Goldschmidt reached on the second catcher's interference call against Cervelli, and Miguel Montero was hit by a pitch, loading the bases. Ross singled to left and Chavez, who spent the previous two seasons with the Yankees, doubled to deep center.

Heath Bell (1-0) pitched the 11th in a game that lasted 4 hours, 11 minutes, for his first decision since Arizona acquired him from Miami during the offseason.

Gregorius, obtained from Cincinnati in December, started the season on the disabled list with a strained right elbow and hit .387 during a rehab assignment at Triple-A Reno. Wearing uniform No. 1, he pulled a 92 mph pitch from Phil Hughes into the third row, then doubled in the fifth, struck out in the seventh and reached on catcher's interference in the ninth. The 23-year-old, born in Amsterdam and raised in Curacao, has a given name of Mariekson Julius Gregorius. He made his big league debut Sept. 5 with Cincinnati and went 6 for 20.

Corbin, who grew up in the Syracuse suburb of Clay, left 37 tickets for family and friends and they nearly saw him improve to 3-0. Using a sharp slider, the left-hander extended his scoreless streak to 15 innings before Cano homered off an ad above the Yankees bullpen. Corbin allowed two hits in seven innings, struck out seven and walked three, throwing 60 of 94 pitches for strikes and lowering his ERA to 1.43.

Hughes pitched far better than in his first two starts but was done in by Gregorius' homer and a solo drive to left by Prado leading off the sixth. Hughes, who has allowed five home runs in 14 innings this season, gave up six hits in seven innings with six strikeouts and no walks. He lowered his ERA from 10.29 to 6.43.

NOTES: Arizona RHP Ian Kennedy traveled to Denver ahead of the team for Friday night's start at the Rockies. ... Yankees RF Ichiro Suzuki started against a left-hander for the first time since opening day. He went 1 for 5 and is hitting .190 this season. ... It was the 90th anniversary of the opening of the original Yankee Stadium. After setting record-low attendances for new Yankee Stadium on Friday (35,033), Sunday (34,154) and Tuesday (34,107), New York drew 36,033 for the homestand finale. ... Goldschmidt has reached base in all 15 games.

Georgia Tech is effective at making another run despite a minute straight lackluster regular period. The Yellow Jackets brought about the conference with fifty four home runs. They hope to power their way to a new title on the buttocks of Daniel Palka in addition to Zane Evans, who bundled for 31 homers.

Another team with the tools to make some noise in Durham is actually Virginia. The Cavaliers led your conference in batting average which includes a terrific. 317 mark as a team and also ranked fourth in ERA. Mike Papi is the star to watch when hitting. 408 to guide the ACC.

Rounding out the category of top contenders is The southwest State. Starters Scott Sitz and additionally Luke Weaver should make sure that the Seminoles have enough pitching to make a title run. Getting timely hits with a mid-pack offense, whether the application be DJ Stewart, Marcus Davis and also an unsung hero, will be the key.

While those four teams hold the best chance to gain the ACC championship, Georgia Tech showed last season that it all comes down to help you momentum. The short event gives all eight teams a decent chance to emerge while using the coveted title.

Nc has too many weapons to take against. On offense, this Tar Heels can win by playing small tennis ball, getting on base and using speed, or simply out-slugging ones own opponents. And they have a terrific pitching staff to be able to back it up.

The X-factor can be Trent Thornton. The pitcher has filled a number of different roles throughout the season and handled these extremely well. He's 9-1 which has a 1. 43 ERA. His ability to lock down opposing offenses coming out of the pen will help North carolina capture the ACC overhead.

WWE Extreme Rules 2013: Matches Designed to Steal the Show because of Main Event.

Your Extreme Rules pay-per-view isn't getting lots of attention, but there are one or two matches on the card that might be classic. What some may see strange is that not one is the main function.

Ryback and John Cena's clash for any WWE title will drive the initial storyline, but as pure in-ring action goes, these three matches might steal the show through the main event.

If you want to see among the best blends of in-ring athletics in addition to theatrics, this is the only one match from the event you don't want to miss.

Not everybody in the WWE can be athletic and exciting since Kofi. When he's matched while using right opponent, his tactics come off excellently. Besides from Dolph Ziggler—whom the event can miss—no other Superstar offers opponent's moves like Ambrose.

He's a good mixture of old-school heelism together with new-school feel. This could be the type of match that vaults Kofi on the next stratosphere.

Daniel Bryan and Kane had been involved with one classic match along with the Shield; this will be yet another epic confrontation.

It seems like the time may have come for Team Hell Simply no to drop the titles. If so, giving The Shield some gold would seem like a logical part of their meteoric rise.

The theme music of Fandango is now viral. His dancing machinations as well as other hype are a awesome package, but the guy is pretty solid with the ring too.

Don't sleep on Jericho's chance to entertain, Y2J can still apply to a great match. After Fandango and Jericho's first meeting registered about a six out of 10 for WrestleMania 29, this one should be considerably better.

Preakness 2013: Why Low Payout to get Orb Makes Favorite a negative Bet.

Right after winning the Kentucky Derby inside convincing fashion, Orb enters the Preakness Stakes for the reason that overwhelming favorite. This is simply not necessarily the best bet to earn on Saturday.

This means that a successful bet at the top contender would provide a return of as few as your original price. Although Orb is good, she's not solid enough so that you can justify this low commission.

Despite winning five directly races, a lot had to go in the horse's favor to continue this streak. An individual major factor was this muddy track at Churchill Downs, where his experience paid off against a portion of the other competitors.

Other contenders like Goldencents and additionally Itsmyluckyday struggled in those conditions earlier inside the month, but they has to be stronger at Pimlico. Newcomers Govenor Charlie and Departing should also be tough to beat.

However, the biggest issue that can hold Orb back from winning the second leg of the Triple Crown will be the post position. He will have to start from the No. 1 slot, which could end up being a problem.

We saw at a Kentucky Derby what jockey Joel Rosario wanted related to his mount. From a No. 16 post, he did not even try to find yourself in good position at the beginning and was very comfy sitting behind the bunch. It was not before final turn that Rosario pushed the horse with the front.

Unfortunately, this strategy will not be possible at the Preakness. Starting close to the rail will force Orb to getting a good start; otherwise, he could often be trapped inside with no room to maneuver. This will especially be true while using fast-starting Goldencents starting at No. 2.

Additionally, history is simply not on Orb's side typing in the prestigious race, according to David Grening of Daily Racing Forum:

The Kentucky Derby winner will need to overcome more information on failed runners at that event. Based on its competition around him, it will not be too easy.

Orb is inclined the most talented horse with the race, but that doesn't always lead to a win. There are way too many factors at play which will prevent him from keying in the winner's circle.

With this thought, it would be a smarter move to place a bet on one of many other contenders that could hopefully bring a more suitable payout.

2nd-Round Write Prospects Guaranteed to Curiosity the Detroit Pistons.

Inside the 2013 NBA draft, the Detroit Pistons will have the No. 8 pick inside the second round. Players available that late rarely develop into All-Stars, but the Pistons should be able to find a player who can play valuable minutes within their rotation next season.

The Pistons must upgrade their starters in the wing, but they should find reliable backups from point guard and with the frontcourt. Here is one player at each position of the fact that Pistons should strongly consider drafting within the second round.

The Pistons only have got two players under contract which will play point guard, Brandon Dark night and Rodney Stuckey, and additionally both struggle running some sort of offense.

Kabongo's draft stock dropped a bit after he was suspended with the first 23 games of the 2012-13 season, but there is no question that he is often a very talented player. The moment he was eligible, they led the Longhorns in scoring (14. 6), helps out (5. 5) and steals (2. 0) and additionally was second in rebounding (5. 0).

They are on the small aspect, measuring just 6'1" and 180 pounds at the combine, but he makes up for it with great quickness and enable you to finish in traffic. Enjoy Texas head coach Rick Barnes break up Kabongo's ability to finish for the fast break:

Kabongo has shown a willingness to work on the defensive conclusion, something that not all young guards have. Of which, combined with his capacity to run an offense, probably will make Kabongo a solid backup point guard straightaway.

If the Pistons don't get to be able to draft Victor Oladipo or Ben McLemore with the first round, they would be incredibly happy to find out Michigan's Tim Hardaway Jr. fall to them inside the second round. Hardaway has the talent to become a first-round pick, but it is definately not a lock at this time. ESPN's Chad Ford has got him ranked No. 34 on his new big board.

Hardaway can score in several ways, has NBA three-point range which is a solid athlete. He was the second-best player on the Michigan team that lost within the NCAA championship game and has now NBA pedigree, as his dad (Tim Hardaway Sr. ) had been a five-time All-Star.

Scouts worry that Hardaway is absolutely not elite at any element of the game, and he is shorter than some prototypical shooting guard (he good 6'4. 5" at this combine).

Regardless, Hardaway gets the talent and athleticism to get, at the minimum, an important role player on the wing for the Pistons. With more focus on defense, Hardaway could develop into a starter at some time.

Small forward is another position in which the Pistons desperately need to incorporate talent. Reggie Bullock from New york could become a dependable 'three and D" player for any Pistons on the mentoring.

Bullock became a rather effective shooter during their three seasons at Nc. He shot 48. 3 percent with the field and 43. 6 because of behind the arc around his junior year. He also became an effective rebounder, averaging 6. 5 for each game.

He is an excellent athlete, but, like several second-round prospects, Bullock is short designed for his position (he measured under 6'6" for the combine).

Bullock's offensive game isn't as versatile as Hardaway's, but bigger better range. His shooting alone will grant him to find playing time on an NBA roster from Working day 1.

The Pistons already have Greg Monroe at power forward, but they have not much depth in the frontcourt. K. J. Leslie from North Carolina State has the capacity to play as an undersized stretch-4 inside the NBA.

Measuring 6'7. 5" in the combine, Leslie is a classic "tweener. " He has elite athleticism and can rebound the ball (he averaged over seven in all his three seasons with N. C. State), but at just 209 pounds he won't be able to guard bruising power forwards inside the post.

With two true low-post players relating to the roster, Leslie could be a great change-of-pace player off the bench for the Pistons. He is also very useful against teams like the Houston Rockets and Colorado Nuggets that consistently use small-ball lineups.

There will be not many legitimate big men available in the second round from this year's draft. Lucas Nogueira from Brazil is one too.

Nogueira is a very raw prospect and allows little offensive talent, but he has the potential to be a difference-maker on the resistive end.

Nogueira is listed at 6'11" and 218 pounds which includes a 7'5" wingspan. He is clearly very thin designed for his position, but that is definitely something that many international prospects address whenever they reach the NBA.

The Pistons already get Andre Drummond as their starting center into the future, but Nogueira has more potential than any massive man available this late within the draft.

Nogueira has excellent potential being a rim protector at the NBA level, and even if he is stashed for another season or two -- one is under contract with Estudiantes until 2014 -- one can find few defenders like him within this draft.

At this point inside their rebuilding process, the Pistons have more pressing needs than the backup center and will likely want a player which might be on the roster the following fall. However, Nogueira could be very valuable in the future.

Grizzlies go from uncertain future to West finals

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — Midway through the season, the Memphis Grizzlies came through Oklahoma City and left with questions swirling about the franchise's future after leading scorer Rudy Gay was traded away in the club's second big deal in just over a week.

Memphis is headed to the Western Conference finals for the first time in franchise history after beating the Oklahoma City Thunder 88-84 on Wednesday night, finishing off the second-round series in five games.

"We were struggling that day, obviously," said point guard Mike Conley, who had 13 points and 11 assists in Game 5. "We thought we lost a family member in Rudy here in Oklahoma City. We played the game with seven players and got blown out. We didn't know what to expect the rest of the year, but we pulled it together.

"Somehow we pulled it together, we trusted each other, we just played as hard as we could and now we're one step closer to getting where we want to go."

Back in 2009, the Grizzlies were finishing off a miserable three-year run — twice winning 22 games and then 24 — before hiring Lionel Hollins as coach. Before 2011, the team had never even won a playoff game. And before this current run, it only won one playoff series.

"We're trying to do something really special. We want to go as far as we can go," Hollins said. "To get there, we had to get through Oklahoma City. And now, we have to get through either Golden State or San Antonio to get further."

The West finals will start no earlier than Sunday, and Hollins said players would have the day off Thursday before returning Friday to work toward making even more history.

"This is the first time, so it definitely means a lot. I'm happy, but we've still got work to do," said All-Star power forward Zach Randolph, who had 28 points and 14 rebounds in the clincher. "I want to win a ring."

The Grizzlies rebounded from the emotional blow of losing Gay and reserves Marreese Speights, Wayne Ellington, Josh Selby and Hamed Haddadi to earn the fifth seed in the West, then fell behind the Los Angeles Clippers 2-0 in the first round of the playoffs.

It was a series filled with games that went down to the wire, and the finale fit right in — even though the Thunder trailed by 12 with 3 minutes left. Oklahoma City came back with a 16-6 rally, and Reggie Jackson's 3-pointer cut the deficit to 86-84 with 14.3 seconds remaining.

Randolph missed two free throws with 11.3 seconds on the clock to give the Thunder one last chance to save their season. Durant got the ball beyond the 3-point line on the left wing and navigated around Tony Allen before missing a 16-foot jumper with 6 seconds left.

"I gave it all I had for my team. I left it all out there on the floor," said Durant, who scored 21 points and committed three of his seven turnovers in the fourth quarter. "I missed 16 shots, but I kept fighting, I kept being aggressive. That's all I can ask for."

Durant was the hero in Game 1, hitting six of nine shots in the fourth quarter, including the go-ahead jumper with 11.1 seconds left. After that, Hollins started including Tony Allen — the top vote-getter for the NBA's all-defensive team — among those guarding Durant. The three-time scoring champion's effectiveness declined as the series progressed.

"They had to play him and he had to be the go-to guy, and we knew that," Hollins said. "We just tried to just make him work for everything."

Durant's only two worse shooting performances in the playoffs came in Game 6 against the Lakers in the 2010 first round (5 for 23, 21.7 percent) — also an elimination game — and in Game 6 of the 2011 West semifinals against Memphis (3 for 14, 21.4 percent).

He faced increasing pressure after All-Star point guard Russell Westbrook had knee surgery two games into the first round and was lost for the rest of the playoffs. Durant averaged 45.6 minutes during the series and played all 48 minutes in Game 5.

"He wasn't going down. He didn't want to sit and watch and go down," Thunder coach Scott Brooks said. "He wanted to play."

Oklahoma City trailed by as many as 14 before it got a breath of life with a bizarre play midway through the third quarter when Derek Fisher's missed 3-pointer turned into a four-point possession. Allen, who was on the bench, waved his arms to try and distract Fisher on his shot and a shirt slipped out of his hands and onto the floor near Fisher's feet.

Referee Marc Davis ruled that Fisher's 3-pointer should count, and Durant hit the free throw resulting from a technical against Allen to get the Thunder within 60-53. Oklahoma City got as close as 64-62 by the end of the quarter, after Fisher's 3-pointer and a layup by Thabo Sefolosha.

But the Thunder missed eight of their first nine shots to start the fourth quarter to fall behind 76-64, then couldn't quite recover with their star struggling so badly.

NOTES: NBA Commissioner David Stern attended the game and sat eight rows from the court. ... Sefolosha wore a brace on his sore left hand. He played just six minutes in the first half, then played the entire third quarter. ... It was the second straight game the Thunder scored the first seven points, only to give up the lead a few minutes later. ... Nick Collison picked up three fouls in the first 2:35 of the second quarter and got pulled. ... After the third-quarter buzzer, Jerryd Bayless made a shot from three-quarters court that did not count.

What Coaches Want to See from QBs Entering Their 2nd Season.

There is things that NFL coaches plan to see from their quarterbacks because they enter year No. some. Even with such a good talented crop of second-year quarterbacks inside Andrew Luck, Russell Wilson and additionally Robert Griffin III, coaches are likely to want to see more.

The main thing they're interested in is improvement. While that will seem like an distinct statement, there are certain instances the game where a quarterback has to improve in their second season inside NFL.

Today I'm about to take you through these specific sectors of improvement that coaches plan to see in year a pair of.

Look within the great quarterbacks in the NFL and you'll see that one thing they master is not turning this ball over.

Aaron Rodgers, Mary Brady and Peyton Manning bundled to throw 27 interceptions last season. Andrew Luck, on the other hand, threw 18 interceptions alone in his rookie year.

Rookies can often have a difficult time handling the speed for the NFL game, as they've never enjoyed against 11 defenders when quick and talented for an NFL team's starting group. This causes them to produce errors and ultimately change the ball over.

Cam Newton can be described as perfect example of your quarterback who improved on ball security during his sophomore season. As you can understand in the chart following, Newton threw less entire interceptions and had less attempt-to-interception ratio as properly.

One thing that rookie quarterbacks have trouble with is pocket presence. They're used to ones own offensive line dominating with the college game and having constantly in the world to help throw the ball.

Blaine Gabbert may be the perfect example of some second-year quarterback struggling to understand pocket presence. During her rookie season, Gabbert appeared to be a deer in the headlights whenever pressure emerged his way. He'd become afraid and just couldn't make a play whenever there seems to be a defensive player in his midst.

Unfortunately, as an alternative to Gabbert improving on this approach quality during his second season, he made little to no improvement in any way.

Disregard the music in the video above and watch how Gabbert moves straight into the pressure caused through the Cincinnati Bengals to require a sack. Instead of coming out right where this individual could extend the participate in, Gabbert runs directly towards Domata Peko.

Coaches can tolerate that type of behavior through the rookie season, but that behavior has to change during the second year. Quarterbacks need as a way to feel the pressure and make adequate adjustments.

No matter who you are taken from college, a 10-year veteran will have a hard moment entrusting their team to the 21-year-old kid. The final area that the coach wants to see much better from in their second-year quarterback is there to their role as some sort of leader.

Coaches want to view their franchise quarterback in complete command with the huddle, executing the two-minute drill while using the poise of a expert.

During the 2013 FOOTBALL draft, Robert Griffin III was seen doing jumping jacks and jogging for the stage at the Washington Redskins' 2013 NFL condensation party. Griffin said for the event, according to Stephen Czarda associated with Redskins. com:

"I'm excellent. You guys saw me jumping; I can run slightly [too]. So I'll get good, no worries, " Griffin III said using a smile on his encounter. "I'll take it slow, but at the same exact time I'll be prepared to go. "

That type of effort to become ready to play early on of the season from serious injury proves that Griffin is just about to be the true leader in the team.

From taking control all through offseason training camps to help legitimately putting forth hard work to improve in preseason, second-year quarterbacks have to step up as the leader of their respective competitors.

Offensive veterans that tend not to trust their quarterback tend to struggle. When veterans struggle they cannot help the younger players on their roster, which in turn negatively affects the complete team.

All of these zones are where coaches just want to see a quarterback improve in their second season. Failure to do so would lead to an owner or GM to seriously question whether they should stick with that quarterback to get a third year.

From Chance, Griffin and Russell to Brandon Weeden while others, coaches will be on the lookout for more from their sophomore quarterbacks going into the 2013 season.

Yankees' Vidal Nuno Generating NAIA Alumni Proud.

He has spent five years within the minors until making his begin for the New York Yankees on May 13 with team that originally drafted him. Nuno pitched five scoreless innings along with struck out three within the 7-0 shutout. In two appearances all this time for the Yankees, he's got failed to relinquish one particular run in eight innings.

Nuno's style is very reminiscent of Ricky Romero's. Various of moving parts, and Romero may throw slightly harder, but Nuno is quite effective with a fastball of which tops out at around 88 mph (Courtesy of FanGraphs). Eventually, major league hitters will catch as many as him, but his influence is what sets the dog apart.

In his five years within the minors, he's walked 69 in 385 innings. He rarely gets to trouble, as evidenced using a career WHIP of 1. 09 and an opponent's hitting average of. 243. Nuno started 2013 in spring training together with the Yankees and put together very impressive numbers that obviously caught a persons vision of some important consumers.

In seven games (two starts), he gave up one run in 10 innings in a 0. 61 ERA, even though striking out 13. Again his WHIP was a stunning 0. 95.

He didn't make the team due to spring training but persisted to showcase his skills at Triple A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre; 2-0, 1. fifty four ERA, 23. 1 innings, 13 hits, four earned runs, twenty six strikeouts, and a MIX of 0. 64.

Without a doubt, the journey through your minors probably took a little bit of longer than expected, but that is definitely normal in a story like this.

According to a press release on the NAIA site, Nuno is in select company on the subject of players that have because of his NAIA school:

"Nuno became only the other Baker Wildcat to ensure it is to the majors, plus the first since Zip Zabel, a right-handed pitcher which won 12 games to your Chicago Cubs from 1913 so that you can 1915. "

The realization that your NAIA is full associated with talent is evident by way of the increasing amount of players drafted annually: 45 in 2011 together with 44 in 2012. And after this that the Independent Leagues come in the forefront as a proving ground for many people players such as Scott Kazmir, playing in each is more to a benefit now than it's have you ever been.

Nuno's journey through your minors hit a roadblock in 2010. He was released by the Indians after the year or so, and had to prove his worth in the Independent Frontier League.

Six games while using Washington Wild Things was sufficiently good for the Yankees, as they signed him shortly after that. Since then, all Nuno is doing is jumped from Single-A to Triple-A in eighteen months and get people on a consistent basis.

Everyone's journey is unique and everyone has a different story to tell. In such cases, its perseverance and dedication. There is no informing what lies ahead meant for Nuno, and perhaps it's to find.

ESPN Wants To generate a Late-Night Talk Show, And Made A Run In Seth Meyers.

You probably know this, Seth Meyers is seizing the 12: 30 p. m. talk show slit from Jimmy Fallon so next year, when Fallon moves in to take over The Today Show. But Meyers, currently the head writer and Saturday News anchor on SNL, had another talk show provide to mull before announcing yes to NBC (and who says yes to NBC without the need of thinking it over, challenging? ). That offer originate from ESPN.

Yes, ESPN wants to get into the late-night talk demonstrate to business, and Meyers is the network's first choice. He said no, based on Jason McIntyre of Your Big Lead, who talked with ESPN president John Skipper to sort it out recently. Meyers was supposedly interested, but preferred your NBC job. But the higher quality , news is, ESPN will work a talk show?

A network gets big reviews with sports programming, and SportsCenter. And after that 11 p. m. SportsCenter … it's some sort of rerun of SportsCenter. Exactly why not a late-night converse show? How hard could it be to pull that off of?

Very hard. Just ask Arsenio Hall, Chevy Push, Pat Sajak, Joey Bishop, Joe Thicke, Joe Namath, Magic Johnson … you become the idea. Even Conan O'Brien got clobbered inside the ratings when he primary started at NBC, although the network kept him around using stubbornness until things better.

My first thought is actually that ESPN should make an effort something new: the talk show inside its present form has existed forever (I believe Aristotle hosted the main one) without much of an makeover. But absent which, this could work … along with the right host. Here can be our suggestions:

Lang Whitaker Bulls cut it to 9 for the 3 from Nate, and Joakim Noah bought T'd up after getting confusing with Battier on that rebound. #AmexNBA

Adventures inside the Fantasy Premier League, Gameweeks thirty seven and 37.

Frank Lampard smashes Bobby Tambling's goal file: Frank Lampard (8. 4) is easy to mock. He's English and thus lacks the sparkle from players like Mata (10. 2), Oscar (8. 0) along with Hazard (9. 6); he's pathologically incapable of playing alongside Steven Gerrard (9. 2), despite the fact that Gerrard's tactical indiscipline hasn't given a hand to matters; and he once yelled for a radio host who had gotten too interested in Mrs. Lampard and also the kids. Still, Lampard is mostly a fantasy football legend, in addition to he deserves respect. It is well known the cliché (which appears like the slogan from some Fox Soccer infomercial): "Lamps guarantees you 20 goals some season. " This season, in only 15 will start, he has accumulated around 1, 400 points. Lampard is normally Chelsea's all-time top scorer, and his name is over the front page of that Fantasy Premier League's midfield leaderboard.

Emmanuel Adebayor comes with stopped sulking and launched scoring: Last week, Adebayor (9. 0) scored a great long-distance goal against Chelsea. He then followed it up with a tap-in against Stoke. Monday, Spurs play Sunderland at home, which probably means Adebayor can continue his streak – except in cases where, of course, Paolo Di Canio manages to invoke some sort of goal-blocking, Champions-League-dream-killing black power.

Sturridge's hat trick: Daniel Sturridge (7. 2) has got benefitted enormously from Luis Suarez's (10. 6) suspension. She has also benefitted from Fulham's silly slump, which I can't assistance but suspect has something to do with Dimitar Berbatov (7. 1), exactly who, as we all realize, generally doesn't run if he doesn't ought to. (I'm pretty sure "economy of motion" could be the technical term. ) Sturridge have scored a hat trick; in a month's time, Liverpool plays Queens Recreation area Rangers.

Sir Alex Ferguson retires: I would write about how, over the 36 hours separating Sunday morning's announcement from Thursday's Internet leak, my managerial dreams rekindled as well as the prospect of manning the Old Trafford technical area suddenly seemed a little bit of less remote. But the fantasy football angle is way more interesting. Rooney (11. 7) to help Chelsea? Baines (7. 8) to help United? Next season, you probably should wait before splurging concerning United's players; presumably, Moyes will vary a few things.

An additional tip for final day: Manchester City has basically sacked Roberto Mancini. Considerable enough, I suppose – Area has gotten progressively worse this season. Good thing Norwich Area is up next. I'm expecting some sort of cathartic explosion, probably for the tune of 5-0. In 2009, Sergio Aguero (11. 1) scored arguably the main goal in Premier Group history; he notches end-of-the-season, statistics-padding crown tricks in his sleeping.

Michigan Vaults to No. 1 in 2014 Recruiting Class Rankings for ESPN

It's great to be a Michigan Wolverine, especially if you've scoped out the latest class recruiting rankings released by ESPN.

At least for now, the Wolverines are indeed "the leaders and the best" in the world of college football recruiting—according to ESPN.

Looking ahead, there's a good chance that Brady Hoke and company will remain on top of these rankings for at least a little while longer. Jabrill Peppers, the No. 1 cornerback recruit in the nation according to ESPN, is looking to make his decision on May 26, per VanHaaren, and Michigan would seem to be the favorite for his commitment.

Michigan is the top team on Peppers' 247Sports interest list, and all 21 experts who predicted in the 247Sports Crystal Ball feature for Peppers picked Michigan.

It's worth noting that at the moment of writing this, the 247Sports Composite Team Rankings rank Michigan at No. 5, and both Rivals.com and Scout.com rank Michigan at No. 7.

Keep in mind that it's not these rankings that matter though, but the ones that come out on national signing day. That said, nobody's going to dispute how important a hot start on the recruiting trail is, so this is great news for Michigan.

Some Hoser For the Blue Jays Game Seen Hunter Pence’s Bat Right Of Right out of the Air.

It happened in the Rogers Centre on Tuesday night for the reason that Giants' Hunter Pence is facing knuckleballer R. A good. Dickey, and there's a recipe for disaster immediately. The wild-swinging Pence damaged or lost his bat, which went rifling on the stands — a scary moment to be positive. But this dude steadly reaches up and snags the wood straight from the air, then holding it up just like a trophy. Beauty, eh.

The Blue Jays triumphed in 10-6, sweeping the two-game set. Do they let you keep bats that fly within the stands? I hope which means — dude deserves the idea.

Melvin Ingram Injury: Best Free Agents Available to Replace Star LB

The San Diego Chargers' defense was dealt a major blow on Tuesday. Per CBS Sports, LB Melvin Ingram tore his ACL and the injury will almost certainly end his season. The Bolts may now have to look at free agents to fill the void.

The injury occurred on just the second day of organized team activities. With Shaun Phillips and Antwan Barnes gone via free agency, the 2013 season was set to be Ingram's year to shine as the primary outside pass-rusher.

The team has Larry English, who has never really made an impact since he entered the league as a first-round pick in 2009, and they also drafted Tourek Williams in the sixth round last month out of Florida International. Neither player seems like a dependable option for such an important role at this point, though.

Here are a few players the Chargers could pursue if they want a more proven replacement for Ingram before the 2013 season begins.

There simply aren't a lot of 3-4 pass-rushing linebackers/defensive ends currently available on the free agent market. Those specialists got snatched up pretty quickly. Thus, the Chargers have already contacted Freeney, per Darin Gantt of Pro Football Talk.

He isn't a pure fit for the role, but he did play in the system in 2012 for the Indianapolis Colts. He's still available, and though he's 33 years old now, he can still rush the passer.

Also, Chargers GM Tom Telesco has some connection to Freeney as well, as the two were together in Indianapolis, where Telesco had a similar role.

Freeney would be better in a 4-3 defense, which the Chargers could still run if the personnel available determines that this is the best scheme for the team to employ.

Though the Chargers will still most likely use a 3-4 scheme, the team did draft Manti Te'o last month, which was peculiar because he seems more like a 4-3 inside linebacker. The pick almost seemed like a hint that the Bolts could be at least pondering a switch to the 4-3. The injury to Ingram could be the final event that pushes them in that direction.

Another proven pass rusher who is unsigned is Abraham. He led the Atlanta Falcons with 10 sacks in 2012, but at 35 years old, he is without a team at this point.

His recent work is even more impressive than Freeney's, and he's been more durable. Abraham has missed only two games in the last six seasons.

Idonije is a longshot, but he is still something to consider. Idonije is one of the more underrated defensive players in the NFL. He is strictly a defensive lineman who can even move inside to play tackle, but he has a great motor and proven production.

When you consider his production and the fact that he's the youngest of the three options discussed here, he may not be a bad choice.

The Kentucky Derby may be the biggest horse race with the year, but there are additional events for competitors for making their mark.

Heading on the derby, Goldencents was one of the top horses to beat. He had proven himself within the Grade 1 Santa Anita Derby and additionally entered the major happening winning three of her previous four starts.

Unfortunately, the derby was simply an awkward performance for the thoroughbred. Although he surely could get into second place early on, he quickly faltered and dropped to 17th spot.

In the next race, Goldencents will not only be capable of getting out to a wonderful start, but the No. 2 post will allow him to get at the rail in some hurry. At this period, he will control his effort for the remainder of the competition.

Trainer Doug O'Neill won last year's Preakness using I'll Have Another, and he is looking to get another strong finish on this occasion from Goldencents.

Like Goldencents, Itsmyluckyday succeeds with the ability to get out to a powerful start and control a pace from there. For Churchill Downs, he was never in a position to reach higher than seventh place.

The wet conditions didn't allow the horse to show off his pure speed, but that should not be an issue at Pimlico. He you must handle the smaller field and run the race he hopes to do.

Additionally, John Velazquez gets control of as the jockey in this event, and the Hall of Famer's experience should go further.

There were simply too many horses considering how at the Kentucky Derby for Mylute to earn your comeback victory. However, there is absolutely no denying the pure speed when it surely could come back from 18th location to finishing in fifth.

Sunderland is definately not with left-back Danny Rose for this purpose one, as the defender is actually on loan from Tottenham and possesses now returned to the north London club.

Likely the Ugliest Jerseys Of All-Time Are Getting a Comeback, In Minor League Baseball.

Curiously, a minor league football team is using gimmicky internet marketing to attract fans. A Tuscon Padres, offspring in the Fathers of San Diego, can be holding a Disco Event on June 8. I'm unsure in regards to what a Disco Night with a baseball game entails (Do they play which includes a disco ball? That would seem to harm the "integrity for the game. ), but it can be an excuse to dress yourself in absolutely hideous uniforms. We were looking at long ago worn by way of the Tuscon Toros, inspired through the Astros' "Tequila Sunrise" jerseys, who were odd, but far reduced grotesque.

Old NASL Star Brian Kidd Is usually Ideal Candidate To Steer Manchester City On YOU AND ME Tour.

When Brian Kidd was named caretaker manager with Manchester City on Sunday, it brought me off memory lane. As a little daughter Fort Lauderdale Strikers tennis ball boy, Kidd had been one of several goal scoring heroes with mine. In 1982, when the Strikers signed Kidd, it was such an issue that my family together with I set out while travelling for a five lesson drive north to Jacksonville to work out the legendary attacking player's first game with the bumblebee Strikers kit. Unfortunately that night, the Jacksonville Herbal tea Men, featuring former Fortification Lauderdale Strikers goalkeeper Arnie Mausser, beat the Strikers 3-1 plus it was a long adventure home lamenting Kidd and what he had not brought to this table.

However, Kidd would soon can come good and he scored 33 goals in 44 games for ones Strikers before the group moved to Minnesota to play one more NASL season in 1984 together with play indoor soccer. As a young tennis ball boy but aspiring footballer during the time, I admired Kidd's skills: Not simply technique but his know-how about positioning and his specialized medical often one–touch finishing/poaching. Watching him up-close from just with the touchline at the ancient Lockhart Stadium was a goody for any youngster, certainly myself.

Next week Kidd will return to the united states as caretaker manager of Manchester City. The Blues possess a two game US excursion which begins in E Louis on May 23 and culminates in New york on May 25. As a native Mancunian exactly who spent four seasons playing in the states, Kidd is uniquely experienced to lead City on this tour. In fact, inside City's previous US tourdates, Kidd has spoken usually to the media than they have back home since a lot of American soccer fans and journalists connected with less effort with him than by means of David Platt or Roberto Mancini.

Let us not leave behind that Kidd was an instrumental behind-the-scenes player around Sir Alex Ferguson's creating of Manchester United towards a dynastic power in English football and probably the most popular football clubs globally. Kidd was seen celebrating with Ferguson just with the touchline in a famous image when United clinched the primary Premier League title in May 1993. Kidd left Ferguson and United within the treble winning season of 1998-99 to become a manager in his own personal right at Blackburn nonetheless after Rovers' relegation in May 1999 together with a bad start to the examples below campaign, Kidd was relieved of his duties.

Kidd later served as an Assistant to former Manchester United star Bryan Robson for Sheffield United and assisted Paul Hart at Portsmouth (before determining trips to the south coast were too much for the Mancunian) before re-joining Manchester City in 2009 as a youth organization coach. In December 2009, newly appointed manager Roberto Mancini termed Kidd his top associate.

Kidd has served for an Assistant Manager of Stansted City since December the year just gone and on Monday this individual was named interim Manager while using the sacking of Roberto Mancini. Kidd will manage Manchester City this Sunday for their season finale versus Norwich thereafter next week in the usa. No question in my mind don't mind the occasional bitter pill that Mancini's sacking helped bring my fellow Blues, Kidd managing the team in the states is a great story and another I personally relish.

Much of our ten favourite Kevin Davies events, part two: The captaincy, Patrice Evra, and also the FA Cup semifinal.

This summer, the Reebok Stadium shall be home to lots with change as Dougie Freedman looks to produce his mark on her Bolton Wanderers team. Some of those big changes is the conclusion of Kevin Davies' time for the club and with this, the end of a time. Super Kev was the past remnant of the Substantial Sam Allardyce era by means of other long-serving Trotters likeJussi Jaaskelainen together with Ricardo Gardner having moved on the year before.

Kevin Davies had been an ever-present at Bolton Wanderers for decade and in that few years, created a number of memories that will last a lifetime. It is impossible to list the every one of the moments in which this club captain's actions helped bring a smile to fans' confronts but we did our best to compile a top ten with photos and gifs. To enjoy gifs, simply roll your mouse with the image.

When long-serving midfielder along with club captain Kevin Nolan had been sold to Newcastle U . s . for £4m in acrimonious circumstances midway on the 2009 January transfer truck's window, Bolton Wanderers supporters and management had one simple man in mind to look at over the captaincy.

Davies was appointed captain the day after Nolan left this club and immediately took up the mantle of representing the club and the team.

Tottenham Hotspur arrived at the Reebok Stadium to your first game of the popular era, as Bolton looked because of their first win in half a dozen matches, with manager Gary Megson coming under pressure from supporters as the club headed for the wrong end of that league table.

The game began with a frantic pace, with your property side taking the lead in the 31st minute with your headed goal from on-loan The french language defender Sebastien Puygrenier. Davies stepped up in the 64th minute to finish a Gary Cahill flick to produce it 2-0.

The Bolton Wanderers fans became increasingly nervous, for the reason that club had become adept at throwing out leads in must-win video game titles under Megson. This was proven a fact again as Spurs striker Darren Twisted scored two goals in rapid succession to bring the game back so that you can 2-2 and provoke much nail biting at home end.

However there was a final twist in the tail as the newly appointed club captain stooped within the 84th minute to head in a very corner from midfielder Matt Taylor to help make it 3-2 to your Wanderers and giving us the precious three elements.

Wanderers went on to make 13th in the division, though in what was a signal of things to come ended the summer season in poor form, going seven games without victory following a 4-1 demolition of Middlesbrough within the first week of 04.

This poor form continued before following December when he or she was relieved of his duties, with up-and-coming Burnley office manager Owen Coyle given a hot seat.

"Sir Alex Ferguson's yearly feud with Bolton Wanderers in addition to their combative forward Kevin Davies resumed yesterday should the Manchester United manager introduced a carefully weighted verbal attack to the player. "

"Last season Ferguson was angered by way of the forward's physical approach in his encounter together with the United full-back Patrice Evra when Bolton upset United within the Reebok. "

"Bolton striker Kevin Davies has vowed giving Manchester United's inexperienced spine line "a good going over" at the Reebok Stadium.

Sir Alex Ferguson might resist the temptation so that you can recall experienced Rio Ferdinand to help his defence, insisting his youngsters are designed for the physical test, while askin referee Andre Marriner to protect goalkeeper David de Gea, acquire. "

We all know that Kevin Davies is a particular "old-fashioned" centre forward: proud a crunching tackle together with someone who loves a tussle using a defender. However, modern football struggles to look through place for this type of player.

Soon to become ex-Manchester United manager Mister Alex Ferguson is, like Davies, very much within the old school. However, he is also the manager of a huge footballing institution and thus believes that everything inside game should happen in favour of his side. Whenever Bolton Wanderers dared to challenge his side, Ferguson ended up being riled. Though his organization generally won convincingly, there were times when Bolton and Kevin Davies especially bought under his skin.

Around November of 2007, Wanderers beat United for the Reebok with a intention from then-record signing Nicolas Anelka. The main talking point after golf saw the United manager delivered to the stands after a row with referee Mark Clattenburg over the challenge on Patrice Evra simply by Kevin Davies. The incident landed him which has a £10, 000 fine as well as a two-match touchline ban.

One memorable quote from following game has gone all the way down in Wanderers lore. U . s . defender Patrice Evra said:

"United defender Patrice Evra got a kicking from him as soon as sides met last November - and is expecting more of the same in this evening's clash at Old Trafford.

"It was the same this. When Davies kicked myself, I said to him 'Why does one tackle like that? ' And he proclaimed 'It's because I can't stand you! "

Events similar to this only further endeared Davies for the Bolton Wanderers supporters. He spent his career adding the sort of committed challenges that supporters thrive upon and desire to see. Although his style of play may possibly not have many supporters in your clubs whose players struggled the challenges, Davies' outlook was celebrated by all of at Bolton Wanderers.

At some club starved of cutlery, and as captain, Kevin Davies always maintained that they wanted to reward the fans' loyalty by having a trophy. In the 2011 period the club reached the Quarter Final within the FA Cup, drawn against fellow Premier League outfit Birmingham City, led by way of Scotsman Alex McLeish.

Bolton Wanderers had the opportunity to reach the last four within the competition for the first time in over a ten years, and despite the opposition enduring injuries within the squad were built to fight til the last minute to secure a Partially Final spot.

Birmingham City were struggling in the fight against relegation within the Premier League, and faced an Owen Coyle-led Bolton side who have been enjoying a fine work of form with some victories in five games, supported by the variety of American midfielder Stuart Holden who had previously been making a real name for himself inside heart of the group.

Bolton took the lead inside 21st minute with a mission from Swedish letdown, and some time striker, Johan Elmander. The city of birmingham forward Cameron Jerome equalised before half time. In a 66th minute however Bolton counter-attacked and won a penalty, as Kevin Davies was brought down contained in the area by his namesake, Curtis Davies.

Davies had never been a penalty taker around his early years with the club, but under Owen Coyle's instruction had become the first choice taker inside squad. He had a good record up until now, but there was surely that the penalty to be able to potentially take Wanderers inside the FA Cup Semi Final was the most pressured penalty that he to take up to now in his career.

Needless to say, Davies showed the character and the opportunity to handle pressure that we all expected of him, together with he buried the fees past Birmingham City together with England goalkeeper Ben Instill.

Although Birmingham again equalised because of 76-year-old forward Kevin Phillips, there was clearly a further twist inside the tail.

A replay looked in the cards as the game moved into injury time, only for Kevin Davies to improve to the plate again to get going Chung-Yong Lee goal, nodded in from six yards for any Bolton win, sending a assembled away fans straight into delirious celebrations.

The less said within the Semi Final the far better, but this was a really memorable moment and sparked a portion of the wildest celebrations ever looked at amongst Bolton Wanderers fans.
