Philadelphia Eagles: Free Agency in Review

While the rest of the NFC East struggled to boost the money to spend on their own free agents, not to mention free agents from other teams, the Philadelphia Eagles were able to spend at their discretion from the get-go in free agency. However, instead of splurging on advertising titles, the Eagles instead decided to target specific people that suited their techniques and choices. The result? An extremely disciplined but profitable begin to the offseason. Let's break it down. Instead of just looking for replacements for these folks, Philly went hunting for large, intense and flexible people, generally from winning teams. In when I suggest in the aforementioned color-coordinated data, the process, they exchanged Asomugha and Rodgers-Cromartie. They need to experience an upgrade in reliability, toughness and fixing with Bradley Fletcher and Cary Williams up to speed. Additionally they brought in two new starting-caliber safeties with exactly the same or similar features. Kenny Phillips and Patrick Chung will likely change Nate Allen and Kurt Coleman, who both stay on the roster on inexpensive novice contracts. The incoming duo are certain tacklers with bigger upsides. Phillips has Pro Bowl ability but involves town on a low priced one-year offer due to damage concerns. Great dice throw. ConnorABarwin's getting paid a lot of money to backup Trent Cole and Brandon Graham, but he provides depth and knowledge to the position as the Eagles make the switch from a to a 3-4. That move feels similar to the IsaacASopoaga signing. Sopoaga can and will begin from the get-go at nose handle, but he's probably merely a veteran stopgap. Then there is James Casey, who is ideal for Kelly's crime. View as that staff finds interesting methods to utilize former Houston Texan, filling him up all around the area. Interesting move. Though Jenkins was an outstanding player and an excellent dude, even his loss doesn't hurt much, if at all. He's 32 years old now and is probably better off as a 4-3 defensive tackle. on special teams if indeed Akeem Jordan is done in Philly, the Eagles will miss him. But at the least they have included some experience and energy in that region with the Jason Phillips signing. Most useful signing: Bradley Fletcher. An incredibly underrated corner who's difficult, intense and powerful in protection. He comes low priced and continues to be small. Worst signing: Connor Barwin. He's being paid huge bucks and is expected to serve as a backup to Trent Cole and Brandon Graham at 3-4 outside linebacker. Strange considering in addition they have Vinny Curry and have been associated with Dion Jordan in the draft. "Best" loss: [tie] Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie and Nnamdi Asomugha. It had been time to move ahead from both. Overrated, overpaid. Worst loss: Akeem Jordan. Really, that is how properly things have gone this offseason. GRADE: A
