You probably know this, Seth Meyers is seizing the 12: 30 p. m. talk show slit from Jimmy Fallon so next year, when Fallon moves in to take over The Today Show. But Meyers, currently the head writer and Saturday News anchor on SNL, had another talk show provide to mull before announcing yes to NBC (and who says yes to NBC without the need of thinking it over, challenging? ). That offer originate from ESPN.
Yes, ESPN wants to get into the late-night talk demonstrate to business, and Meyers is the network's first choice. Very hard. Just ask Arsenio Hall, Chevy Push, Pat Sajak, Joey Bishop, Joe Thicke, Joe Namath, Magic Johnson … you become the idea. Even Conan O'Brien got clobbered inside the ratings when he primary started at NBC, although the network kept him around using stubbornness until things better.
My first thought is actually that ESPN should make an effort something new: the talk show inside its present form has existed forever (I believe Aristotle hosted the main one) without much of an makeover. But absent which, this could work … along with the right host. Here can be our suggestions:
